According to the "News" newspaper, Hersh quoted a source in the article as saying, "This official told me that Trump's main goal is to lift the current economic sanctions against Russia and establish a partnership with (Russian President) Putin, aiming to turn Crimea into an important international resort. Hersh also mentioned that the same may be true for the Donbass region.
